Bookings are considered confirmed once Iguanas Tours has received the required payment and issued a written booking confirmation.
Payments
We accept major credit cards and other available payment methods shown during the booking process.
For day tours, full payment is normally required at the time of booking unless otherwise stated.
For private day tours, transfers or special arrangements, Iguanas Tours may require full payment or a deposit depending on the service.
For multi-day tours and tailor-made trips, a deposit is required to confirm the booking. The final balance and payment deadlines will be stated in the proposal or booking confirmation.
Day Tours, Shared Tours, Private Day Tours and Transfers
For most day tours, shared tours, private day tours and transfers booked directly with Iguanas Tours, the following cancellation policy applies:
- Full refund for cancellations received 24 hours or more before the scheduled start time.
- No refund for cancellations received less than 24 hours before the scheduled start time.
- No refund in case of no-show, late arrival without prior notice, or unused services.
This policy applies to most standard day tours. Some tours, private services, special experiences, entrance tickets, transportation services, boats, permits or third-party services may have stricter cancellation conditions. If a different policy applies, it will be clearly stated before confirmation.
Payment Processing Fees
In case of cancellation and refund, non-recoverable bank fees, credit card fees, payment gateway fees or currency conversion costs may be deducted from the refundable amount.
These fees are charged by third-party payment providers and are not retained by Iguanas Tours.
Multi-Day Tours and Tailor-Made Trips
Multi-day tours, private journeys and tailor-made itineraries are planned in advance with hotels, guides, drivers, local operators and other providers. Because many services require deposits or prepayment, cancellation conditions are different from standard day tours.
Unless otherwise stated in the proposal, the following policy applies:
- Deposit: 30% to 50% of the total trip value, depending on the itinerary, season and services included.
- Final payment: 45 days before the first service date.
- Bookings made within 45 days of travel require full payment at the time of confirmation.
Cancellation fees:
- 60 days or more before the start date: refund of payments made, minus the non-refundable deposit, payment processing fees and any non-recoverable supplier costs.
- 59 to 31 days before the start date: 50% cancellation fee of the total package value.
- 30 to 15 days before the start date: 75% cancellation fee of the total package value.
- 14 days or less before the start date: 100% cancellation fee.
- No-show, late arrival without notice, trip interruption or unused services after the trip has started: no refund.
Non-Refundable Services
Some services may be non-refundable from the moment they are confirmed. These may include, but are not limited to:
- Domestic flights.
- Selected hotels or promotional hotel rates.
- Entrance tickets.
- National park permits.
- Private transportation.
- Boats or maritime services.
- Local operators.
- Special experiences.
- Guides in specific languages.
- High-season reservations.
- Services booked for Christmas, New Year, Easter Week, Colombian holidays or special dates.
When possible, Iguanas Tours will inform clients about non-refundable services before confirmation.
Domestic flights are generally non-refundable or subject to the airline’s own cancellation and change conditions. Iguanas Tours cannot guarantee refunds for airline tickets once issued.
Date Changes
Date changes are subject to availability and supplier conditions.
For day tours, date changes requested 24 hours or more before the tour may be accepted without penalty when availability allows.
For multi-day tours and tailor-made trips, date changes are subject to hotel, airline, transportation and supplier conditions. Fare differences, penalties or administrative costs may apply.
Changes requested close to the travel date may be treated as a cancellation and new booking.
High Season and Special Dates
For travel during Christmas, New Year, Easter Week, Colombian holidays, local events, peak season or other high-demand dates, stricter payment and cancellation conditions may apply.
These conditions will be stated in the proposal, invoice or booking confirmation.
Cancellations or Changes by Iguanas Tours
There may be situations where Iguanas Tours needs to adjust, reschedule or cancel a service due to weather, sea conditions, safety concerns, road conditions, mechanical issues, supplier changes, national park restrictions or other circumstances beyond our control.
In these cases, Iguanas Tours will offer the best possible alternative, rescheduling option or applicable refund depending on the situation and supplier conditions.
If Iguanas Tours cancels a standard day tour for operational reasons and no alternative is accepted by the client, a refund will be offered according to the amount paid, excluding non-recoverable third-party costs when applicable.
Force Majeure
Iguanas Tours is not responsible for events beyond its control, including natural disasters, severe weather, government restrictions, road closures, strikes, civil unrest, pandemics, airline disruptions, national park closures or other unforeseen events.
In such cases, Iguanas Tours will make reasonable efforts to reschedule services, offer alternatives, issue travel credit or recover funds from suppliers. Refunds, when possible, will depend on the amounts effectively recovered from the providers involved.
Travel Insurance
Travel insurance is strongly recommended for all travelers, especially for multi-day trips. Insurance should include cancellation, trip interruption, medical assistance, flight disruption and force majeure-related protection.
