Playa Cinto

Playa Cinto

The best beach in Tayrona park

Playa Cinto is located in Tayrona National Nature Park in Santa Marta, Magdalena. Only 34km from Santa Marta covers 15,000 hectares of one of Colombia’s most important natural parks. It has tremendous natural and historical value. The area of today’s park was inhabited and used in the pre-Columbian period by the civilization of Tairona. The territory of the park is very diverse, including beautiful beaches, coral reefs, mangroves, lagoons and tropical forest, which stretches to an altitude of 900 meters above the sea level.

There are almost 800 plant species and a large number of animals, especially jaguar, ocelot, cougar, caimans, monkeys, reptiles and a large number of birds.

Playa Cinto is a beautiful virgin, deserted beach, the ideal place for people who love nature and prefer peace and tranquility. You will fall in love with this beautiful beach and its azure sea, nice sandy beach, palm trees, big coral reef for snorkeling and the jungle behind, where you can walk and observe some monkeys.

How to get there?

  1. By your own:
    • You can take a bus from the Market in Santa Marta (10 000COP), they will drop you off by the gas station, where is turn left to Neguanje. From there you have to take a moto-taxi (25 000 – 30 000COP).
    • By taxi or private transport company from Santa Marta. (It’s around 200 – 250 000COP round trip).  – They will take you to the entrance, where you buy your ticket ( 56 500COP in low season, 64 500 in high season, insurance included), it’s obligated to watch a short informational video about the NP Tayrona. Then you can continue to Neguanje beach. There is a boat service to Playa Cristal, where most people go (100 000COP per boat, so you pay it or wait to share the boat with somebody else). Or to Playa Cinto, it’s about 20min. to get to the next Bay of Cinto. They charge you around 300 000COP per boat. –
    • With a car. If you go with your own or rented car they charge you 14 000COP car admission and in Neguanje 10 000COP more for parking. – There is also an option to hike to Playa Cristal and Playa Cinto from Neguanje. It‘s about 45minutes hike to Playa Cristal and approx. 2 hours to Playa Cinto. –
    • Boat service from Taganga or Santa Marta. But we don’t recommend it. There are always big waves and currents, so it’s not comfortable and a lot of people consider it dangerous… ( The price is around 50 000COP per person one way).
  2. Organized Tour
    • Ordinary tour – there is a lot of agencies in Santa Marta, Taganga, Rodadero offering similar service of ordinary tours to Tayrona Park (Playa Cristal, Playa Cinto, Cabo San Juan). – It is a low budget price (around 120 000COP per person), they always go on some bus or Chiva, recollecting people. So you spend more time waiting for others and the time on the beach is shorter also because you have to leave earlier. –
    • Private tour with Iguanas Tours – the best way how to get there is to join one of our tours. You can choose from our packages or talk with us because we can personalize it just as you would wish. We can spend the whole day in Cinto, buy some fish from locals fishermen. And if you would wish some more comfort we can arrange a terrace with sun loungers, shower, and toilet.
